trying to make the most of a not particularly enjoyable event...
apparently leg surgery presents great photo ops. and that's even before the bandages come off this is inspired to some subconscious degree by aimee mullins, the double-amputee model/actress who appears in matthew barney's cremaster cycle movies.
it was a very awkward self-portrait. moving around whilst bandaged and wearing heels to get into position before the shutter went off was quite a challenge. but i'm glad you like the results
You have to let me paint a picture of you once you get your bandages off, ESPECIALLY if it leaves scars.
On another note, this is a really beautiful portrait. The simplicity, the way the purple is reflected in your hair and on the folds of the wrapped leg, the cropping of the figure. Really nice.
I'm trying to figure out if I like your other leg where it is or if i'd be better stuck out in a horizontal position? That may or may not destroy the mood?? But i sort of find your other foot distracting from the unusualness of the wrapped leg and foot. May just be a personal preference. Either way, again... wonderful image. You make for a beautiful model.
I look forward to seeing more of these. Maybe if you combine a beautiful image like this with the unusal/surreal nature of the one photo you did with the flower in your mouth??
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
